My Thayer Jacket

Not a quilt….just a fun sew!

I finished my first Thayer Jacket yesterday. This is a great pattern from Grainline Studio. The pattern instructions are very easy to understand, and they also have a series of sew-along blog posts that are extremely helpful — especially when making the jacket for the first time.

This is an easy fitting jacket, but they do have fitting tips if needed. On the next jacket, I’ll probably lengthen the sleeves a little, but the fit was good otherwise. I used 13 oz Cone Mills Rigid Indigo Denim (made in the USA) for the exterior and Robert Kaufman Durango Flannel for the lining (cosy). I had a few challenges, but overall I’m thrilled about how the jacket turned out.

I can already see my next jacket …. natural denim with a cute printed cotton lining — perfect for spring!
